Let me say, Om Swastiastu

01:25

Om Swastiastu!

Welcome to Mister Bali, a great way to discover Bali.
I began my blog with Om Swastiastu, and i want to say this as my welcoming word.

Om Swastiastu means "May Hyang Widhi (God) always give His bless to you". Om Swastiastu is a greetings and also a prayer,  that Balinese use (or mostly Hindu-Bali people) as a formal greeting. This words are Sansekerta language, one of the oldest language in Asia. "Om" is the sacred words for Hindu's God ( Sang Hyang Widhi), "Swasti" means safe and prosperous, and "Astu" means hopefully.

When we say "Om Swastiastu", we clasped our hand in front our chest  in a prayer position. People will reply with "Om Swastiastu" as well. When you say this greeting, don't forget to smile. Someone great said, "You'll never fully dressed without a smile". We always trying to be nice with other people, so if you don't have time to greet them, a smile would be enough.
